The 2002 vintage will go down as one of the finest in recent memory. A mild summer weather pattern, with very few heat spikes, allowed the grapes to hang longer on the vine, producing wines of notable complexity. Our growers took great steps to drop fruit in June and July to ensure that the yields were low which enhanced the remaining fruit and provided the intensity that you will experience in the wines we offer you in this release.

The 2001 vintage kept us all guessing throughout the year. The year started with a late frost that damaged many vines and reduced the production on others. The weather was cooler than normal, which was reflected in the later harvest of all of our vineyards. Our grapes benefited from the extended time on the vine, creating slightly higher sugars and more intense flavors. We are very pleased with this harvest, which culminates in the wines we offer you below.
